Hair care has become my priority. My hair journey has been a source of angst the past couple of years. Hair thinning, hair loss, frizz and dullness. After some trial and error, I have finally found products that rescued my hair (and sanity).
Blame it on hormones, postpartum, aging (read my Substack aging post), lack of nutrients, stress, etc. I think I’ve figured out what products have worked and what wasn’t making a difference. Over the past several months, I’ve seen huge strides with the continuous use of new hair products I introduced into my routine. Also, a great haircut never hurts!
As my hair care journey continues, here are the products that have rescued my hair:
Briogeo Sleek Stick
Wearing my hair up with a middle part happens about 2-3 times a week. It’s easy on days I don’t want to do my hair, but also a very pulled together look too. With lots of flyways and regrowth happening, this sleek stick saves the day and keeps everything in place!
Dae Heat & Styling Mist
A heat styling product is a must and I have tried a ton, over the years. What I love most about this Dae product is that its great for fighting frizz. I have a natural wave to my hair and with all the recent hair changes, any extra frizz fighting product helps. I really love this one!
Nutrafol Hair Serum
This serum makes a difference, quickly. When running my fingers through my hair, I can immediately tell my hair feels slightly fuller and my hairline has more growth. I have tried two other very popular brands, but this one by far, has shown the fastest and best results. A must if you are on the hunt for a scalp serum.
Kerastase Shampoo & Conditioner
The shampoo and conditioner I was using before was good. I never strayed from it, but I needed something different for my changing hair. This Kerastase duo has really made a difference. Just a small amount of product goes a long way and my hair feels hydrated and refreshed after every use. I could style it right after and never have to worry about dryness or a dull look.
Color Wow Anti-Frizz Treatment
The difference I saw in my hair after using this product was really incredible. It tamed so much of my frizz and I never have to worry about forgetting to add any other products to my hair for frizz once I’m done drying it. I also love that it lasts for up to 4-5 blowouts. Add to your hair care routine!
Quai Hair Oil
I’ve been using this oil a bit longer than these other products, but I just love it that much. The smell is the best, and it adds the perfect amount of shine without the oily look or feel. That is hard to come by. I don’t use anything else but this oil after drying my hair. Perfect for the flyaways too!
Crown Affair Dry Shampoo
I wish I bought this sooner! I will never use dry shampoo spray again. The application of the powder allows for precise coverage, which I love, avoiding the “dry shampoo” look. It smells wonderful, never dries the scalp, and contains natural ingredients that enriches the scalp too. A must, must, must!
Crown Affair Leave-In Conditioner
On those days I let my hair air dry, I’m usually home all day, under a hat, or with my hair pinned back. The only product I put on my hair is this leave in conditioner. It keeps my hair soft, tamed, and hydrated. Giving it the break and reset it needs. I absolutely love it. It just feels good!
